Sónar Reykjavik is an annual music festival held in Reykjavik. The festival takes place March 16. & 17. with around 50 artists peforming on four stages at Harpa.
Headlining the Saturday night program of the SonarClub stage will be long-standing electronica innovators Underworld. Their set at Sónar Reykjavik coincides with the 30th anniversary of their debut album, and their most recent collection ‘Barbara Barbara, We Face a Shining Future’ demonstrates that they’re as powerful a creative force as ever.
New additions to the festival line-up also include euphoric future-retro space disco Norwegian producer Lindstrøm, Reykjavik-based Australian artist Ben Frost, crafter of brutally beautiful and apocalyptic experimental productions; and Los Angeles’ TOKiMONSTA bringing her slick take on R&B and hip-hop to Iceland, and from the vibrant local scene; the cutting edge hip-hop collective Reykjavíkurdætur (Daughters of Reykjavik) mixing their fiercely intense bars with an eagerness to court controversy, Flóni, The Joey Christ Show and Blissful.
Sónar Reykjavik 2018 is spread across four stages: SonarClub, SonarHall, the seated SonarComplex auditorium presented by Red Bull Music Academy and the underground SonarLab carpark presented by Resident Advisor.
