Til hamingju Hildur! was displayed on Harpa last night, meaning Congratulations Hildur!
Hildur Guðnadóttir just became the first Icelander to win an Oscar with her music for The Joker and also the first woman to win Best Original Score. All Icelanders are extremely proud of this amazing woman.
In her acceptance speech, she encouraged other female composers to let their voices be heard: “To the girls, to the women, to the mothers, to the daughters, who hear the music bubbling within, please speak up. We need to hear your voices,”.
