Sunday Classics is a new recital series at Harpa Concert Hall and Conference centre presenting top-quality classical chamber music and songs. The recitals take place almost every Sunday at 5pm in one of Harpa´s recital halls, Kaldalón or Norðurljós, or in the open spaces of Harpa. Siggi‘s String Quartet opened the concert series in the beginning of September icluding a European Premiere of the quartet “Stillshot” by Daníel Bjarnason.
On Sunday we welcome Elmar Gilbertsson and pianist Gerrit Schuil. Elmar Gilbertsson is Icelands most promising and already established young singers. His overwhelming performance in the opera “Ragnheiður“, and after that his Ottavio in Don Giovanni, made him win all hearts. He lives in Holland, and has sung there with great success, as well as in many countries in Europe, including festivals like „Aix en Provence“ in France.
