DesignMarch 2017 in Harpa

23.-26.03.2017

DesignTalks 2017 will take place at Harpa

DesignMarch is Iceland’s most important annual design festival covering all fields of design including architecture, graphic design, fashion, furniture and product design.

Over four days, Reykjavik Sizzles with creative energy with around one hundred exhibitions, workshops and other events spread across the town from the fishing harbor to the main street and the lava fields surrounding the city, turning the most Northern capital in the world into one big venue for design.

DesignTalks 2017
DesignTalks is a day filled with inspirational talks by leading international design creatives on the relevance and impact of design. For DesignTalks 2017 we feel it’s time to explore our relationship with nature – with each other – and ourselves. We set out to explore if and how uncertainty may be reinforcing our quest for the pure, the authentic, the raw. for beauty – and perhaps ugliness too. How we increasingly seek to reconnect with nature and ourselves through heightened senses, sometimes controversially mediated through technology while in other cases, through authentic experiences. All this while cities are struggling with growth and inclusion, citizens with cohabitation and we’re running as fast as we can to save the planet – and ourselves. Tickets here

Reykjavík Fashion Festival (RFF) 2017
Reykjavík Fashion Festival (RFF) will be held simultaneously as DesignMarch, on the 23th – 25th of March, when overall design and designers are celebrated in the city of Reykjavík. Reykjavík Fashion Festival was formed in 2009 and is a great venue for Icelandic fashion designers to exhibit their work and show their designs. The goal of RFF is to draw attention to Icelandic design and the ongoing evolution of the Icelandic fashion industry. An array of foreign and local media, as well as individuals working in the design industry will be invited to the event and there they will have the opportunity to experience Icelandic design and meet the designers in person. The festival is also tailored to suit anyone that has an interest in the exciting world of Icelandic fashion. Reykjavik Fashion Festival has recently joined the world of conscious thinkers and wants to inspire towards a sustainable future of the fashion industry. RFF has a strong will and force to drive the change for a more conscious perspective on people and planet by using creativity and colorful minds.
