The performance tomorrow’s show of the satirical comedy Icelandic Sagas: The Greatest Hits will be held in support of the Icelandic section of Amnesty International. The artists donate their work and all proceeds go to the human rights organization. The show‘s organizers decided to host a special show as they wanted to contribute to the movement’s work on helping to protect refugees’ rights.
In the show, two of Iceland‘s finest actors take the audience on a 75 minute best of tour through Iceland’s literary heritage, the Icelandic Sagas, stories that have been passed down through generations and preserved in ancient manuscripts.
“We at Amnesty International feel people’s empathy and sense of responsibility towards refugees and the fact that these artists have decided to support us is absolutely wonderful. We are very grateful for the support and goodwill towards us,” says Anna Lúðvíksdóttir, director of the Icelandic section of Amnesty International.
