The Iceland Symphony Orchestra welcomed over 4500 school children this week. The children met with the famous scientist Ævar Þór and listened to programme featuring music from the Harry Potter films, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lord of the Rings and Ghostbusters.
Two concerts will take place on Saturday at 2 pm and 4pm.
Scientist, actor, and author Ævar Þór was a smash hit when he appeared in concert with the Iceland Symphony two years ago. And now he’s back, with more exciting adventures to share. With the help of the orchestra, Ævar travels far and wide and, armed with curiosity as his only weapon, he presents to concert guests the most exhilarating music he knows, and in between the musical numbers, Ævar tells stories about his favourite adventures. This programme features music from the Harry Potter films, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lord of the Rings, and Ghostbusters, plus a brand-new composition based on the award-winning book Your Own Folk Tale [Þín eigin þjóðsaga]. This thrilling programme will keep guests on the edge of their seats – a show that’s not to be missed. Tickets for the concerts can be purchased here.
