Kaldalón, the smallest hall in the building, is situated on the first floor. It is well-suited for all types of music, as well as conferences, meetings, screenings and lectures.
The seating in Kaldalón is stationary, on a fixed gradient down to the stage area, and it can accommodate 195 guests. The stage itself is moveable and the floor can also be used as a platform for musicians or lecturers. The reverberation time in the hall can be altered, making Kaldalón adaptable for a variety of different events.
So-called from an ice front bay in the Western Fjords where the composer Sigvaldi Kaldalóns lived for a while and named himself after the bay. Kaldalón means “cold lagoon”.
