Vivaldi – The Four Seasons

A journey for children of all ages

A colorful journey in words and music through Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

Magic Door, in collaboration with The Reykjavík Chamber Orchestra presents “The Four Seasons” with a little story which intertwines Vivaldi’s most famous piece. The story is by Pamela de Sensi with Sigurlaug Knudsen in the role of the Elf Queen who guides our guests through the piece.

Antonio Vivaldi is one of the most famous composers in history and many themes from his music are well known today. The Four Seasons is
without doubt his most known piece, where every season comes alive through his music. Originally each concerto came with poems, sonnets, probably written by Vivaldi himself. In a similar way Pamela uses his almost visual images in the music to make a little play where the orchestra, music and audience are bonded together with stories and pictures under the guidance of the Elf Queen.

Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter become the stage as the Reykjavík Chamber Orchestra performs this popular piece that has been with us for centuries.
