Múlinn Jazz Club: The Roaring Twenties

This event has passed

The Roaring Twenties
The Roaring 1920’s saw jazz music and dance front-and-center in Western culture, in a period of economic prosperity, social reform and a spirit of breaking with tradition. This program exclusively features tunes that were first published and/or recorded in the year 1920, therefore celebrating their 100th anniversary this year.

Eiríkur Orri Ólafsson, trumpet
Kristján Martinsson, piano
Andri Ólafsson, bass
Magnús Trygvason Eliassen, drums

Tickets are 3000 ISK.

Múlinn’s program is ambitious, diverse and a good example of the liveliness that characterizes the Icelandic jazz scene. Visitors can listen to top quality jazz at a reasonable price with a great view over the harbor. Múlinn is a cooperation between Félags Íslenskra Hljómlistarmanna (FÍH) and Jazzvakningar. The club is named after Jón Múli Árnason who was also an honorary member and patron of Múlinn. Múlinn was founded in the fall 1997 but the first concert took place in the beginning of 1998. Múlinn is funded by The City of Reykjavík and The Iceland Music Fund and is in collaboration with The World Music Club and Harpa.

Organizers of Múlinn are Ólafur Jónsson and Haukur Gröndal.
