The Welcome Home series presents home concerts with young musicians. It reaches out to those who have recently finished their studies abroad, inviting them to introduce themselves and their accomplishments to the audience at home, thus giving them a platform and an opening into professional life as musicians. Some young artists create their professional ground abroad and this series offers a possibility for our audience to follow their progress. Others come home to nurture other young talents and play a part in the extensive Icelandic musical scene. The Harpa Welcome Series shares with you our best young international Icelandic musicians: vocalists and instrumentalists, composers and ensembles of every genre — at home—in Reykjavik’s extraordinary Harpa Concert Hall.
Presented in cooperation with the Association of Icelandic Musicians.
The concerts are a part of Harpa´s Sunday Classics series and take place at 5 pm in the open space on the first floor.
On February 19th performers are Baldvin Tryggvason, clarinet, and Helga Bryndís Magnúsdóttir , piano.
Sunday Classics is a new recital series at Harpa presenting top-quality classical chamber music and songs. The recitals take place almost every Sunday at 5pm in one of Harpa´s recital halls, Kaldalón or Norðurljós, or in the open spaces of Harpa.

Among this years highlights is a solo piano recital of world known Maria Joao-Pires, taking place on December 11th in Norðurljós. Harpa is also proud to present the series of young and upcoming artists, called „Welcome home“, included in the Sunday Classics program.
