Múlinn Jazz Club – Kurt Weill

From Berlin to Broadway: The Music of Kurt Weill

This event has passed

Cellist Þórdís Gerður Jónsdóttir has for many years been inspired by the music of Kurt Weill, probably because they have in common that their musical work includes equally classical music and jazz and often mixes these two genres together. The story of Kurt Weill is the story of Europe and North America in times of two world wars, the story of old and new musical styles, and will be told in his music, covering his whole compositional career. The band will also perform Þórdís original compositions inspired by moments in Kurt Weill’s life and work.
