Lunchtime concert with Finnish music

A string-based youth orchestra from Valkeakoski, Finland is visiting Iceland 26.4.-1.5.2019 with partners in Kopavogur and Keflavik music institutes. Our aim is to let the students learn about Icelandic culture by playing together with the locals, in different places, and also bring Finnish music to Iceland.

Our specialty is a pedagogic method called Näppäri where all age groups can join together in a performance thanks to clever arrangements suitable for each skill level from beginners to professionals.

We have folk music both in ”raw” versions as well as arrangements by classical composers; some Jean Sibelius, Toivo Kuula ja Einojuhani Rautavaara and some Icelandic music.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome!
