During the past few years, the ensemble has garnered praise by breathing new life into the music of the baroque and renaissance with their collaborations with Icelandic and international singers, instrumentalists and dancers. Several of their recent concerts have been recorded and broadcast by the Icelandic State Radio, and critics of Iceland’s leading newspapers have praised Barokkbandið Brák for their vivacious and meticulous performances, lavishing them with four to four and a half stars. Barokkbandið Brák was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards for Performer of the Year in 2017 and 2018, as well as Musical Event of 2018.
