Harpa provides outstanding facilities for all types of music both classical, contemporary, opera, jazz, pop and rock.

Harpa provides outstanding facilities for all types of music both classical, contemporary, opera, jazz, pop and rock. The halls have outstanding acoustics, well suited for a grand scale of music. The halls vary in size ranging from 200 seats to 1800 and all facilities are equipped to the highest standard. The main hall, Eldborg has great acoustics for various concerts and is the hall where the Iceland Symohony and the Icelandic Opera host their concerts and stage operas.  Comfort and visibility for the audience is optimal. The recital hall; Norðurljós, and the conference hall; Silfurberg offer a variety of set-up possibilities with movable stages and flat floor space. The recital hall seats 450 and can fit 700 standing up. The Conference Hall is well suited for pop and rock concerts and seats 750 but fits up to 1100 standing audience.

Harpa is the residency of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Icelandic Opera.
